Carmen (French pronunciation: [kaʁmɛn]; Spanish: [ˈkarmen]) is an opera in four acts by French composer Georges Bizet. The libretto was written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, based on a novella of the same title by Prosper Mérimée. The opera was first performed at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 3 March 1875, where its breaking of conventions shocked and scandalized its first audiences. Bizet died suddenly after the 33rd performance, unaware that the work would achieve international acclaim within the following ten years. Carmen has since become one of the most popular and frequently performed operas in the classical canon; the "Habanera" from act 1 and the "Toreador Song" from act 2 are among the best known of all operatic arias.

Carmen Overture by Georges Bizet performed by The Russian Philharmonic Orchestra

Carmen Overture by Georges Bizet performed by The Russian Philharmonic Orchestra (Live Concert in C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile Stereo) Crisp Resolution Integrated Stereo Audio Line or better known as C.R.I.S.T.A.L.®, started out as an audiophile stereo mastering and encoding technology developed by Daniel Foo, founder of GECKO MUSIC GROUP. It enables every regular disc that is encoded with this technology sounding like the master source itself, if not better. The mastering technology involved an ultra-wide dynamic spectrum enhancement for the genuine expressions of music, without altering its original tonality and values. The C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® technology allows easy and lossless conversion to major frequencies of 32, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96kHz and higher. The encoding stage involves a propriety-burning technique that has the rate of more than 2.8224 Mbps/Ch on a regular disc. The same C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile technology concept has since evolved into C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® WaveGuide, C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile PreAmps, and GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Acoustic Adaptation Processor (GCAAP) in the hardware forms, now widely used on GECKO® professional audio equipments, for stereo audiophile applications for home, studio, and live settings. Using reference value of 1V (International Ohm's Law reference), we are able to achieve a super accurate audio reproduction with our proprietary C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® circuitry; at 0dB, below 0dB, and above 0dB, resulting in a very much improved clarity with minimum loss over full spectrum of the reproduced audio waveform. C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile technology enables accurately-controlled amplitude modulation through f(x,t) = 1.00*sin(2* Π/0.10*(x-1.00*t)) and g(x,t) = 1.00*sin(2*Π/0.11*(x-1.00*t)), resulting in improved clarity with minimum loss over full spectrum of the reproduced audio waveform. How the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra: Live in Concert sound was captured for both live performance and recording Sound Capturing A pair of GECKO® SATELLITE SRM 2020 C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile large-diaphragm condenser microphones were used to capture the overall orchestra sound in stereo, a unit of GECKO® SATELLITE SCM 1820S C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile stage condenser microphone was assigned for the solo violin, a pair of GECKO® PASSION MP 830S C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile dynamic microphones were used to pick up the two double basses, and a unit of GECKO® PASSION MP 621W/RP 211U wireless handheld microphone was used to capture the soprano's vocal. One unit of GECKO® AYERS ROCK DI 100P C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile direct injection box was used with one unit of GECKO® LEGENDS BGT 60 backline amplifier for the orchestra's digital piano, with its reproduced sound captured by the pair of SATELLITE SRM 2020 C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile large-diaphragm condensers along with the overall sound blend of the entire orchestra. Signal Transmission All signals are connected using GECKO® TRUTH T3AL audiophile signal cables and GECKO® SEEKER SSC 2840 audiophile snake cables terminated with GECKO® OLYMPIAN series audiophile interconnects. Stereo Summing The real time stereo summing (of all the seven monaural tracks) for both live playback and recording were done on the GECKO® EXODUS ODYSSEY MXR 5204L 52-channel C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile mixing console, with every channel's EQ bypassed. No DSPs were applied. Front-of-House (F.O.H.) The stereo summations were sent to two lines of REVELATION series C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile active line array systems (F.O.H.), to achieve an equal volume concert experience with C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile clarity within the ballroom. Each line was made up by three units of GECKO® REVELATION SLA 812RA 2*12" module and a unit of GECKO® REVELATION SLA 818WA 18" subwoofer. The GECKO® REVELATION C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile active line array systems operate on 13A, 110/220V power supply. Master CD The recorded stereo tracks were then sent for C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile mastering and encoding. The C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® audiophile mastering and encoding enables the listener to experience the concert sound the same way it sounded in both live and on the master CD.
