The classical repertoire of Berlin Classics was established in 1993 and, with the extensive catalog of the former “Deutsche Schallplatten” label, covers around 80% of the standard repertoire. The catalog comprises outstanding productions featuring internationally renowned soloists, choirs, orchestras and conductors. Kurt Masur, Herbert Blomstedt, Kurt Sanderling, Franz Konwitschny, Hermann Abendroth, Günther Ramin, Peter Schreier, Ludwig Güttler, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Staatskapelle Dresden and Staatskapelle Berlin, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Leipzig and Berlin radio choirs, the Dresdner Kreuzchor and the Thomanerchor Leipzig are only a few of the artists included in this treasure comprising well over 2,000 catalog numbers. Step by step, this repertoire is being made available to discerning listeners on CD, digital and Vinyl, with the artistically high-quality analog recordings painstakingly remixed using Sonic Solutions NoNoise technology to achieve a close-to-digital standard. At the same time, Berlin Classics is releasing new recordings featuring first-class, mostly young singers, musicians and ensembles, such as singers Christiane Karg, Anja Harteros and Lynne Dawson, the pianists Ragna Schirmer, Anna Gourari, Lars Vogt, Matthias Kirschnereit and Sebastian Knauer, the worlwide known clarinetist Sharon Kam and the ensembles Concerto Köln, Bell'arte Salzburg or the vocal ensemble Vocal Concert Dresden and the famous Dresdner Kreuzchor.
