The Violin Sonata (also "Duo" or "Grand Duo") in A major, Op. Posth. 162, D 574, by Franz Schubert was composed in 1817. This sonata followed by one year the composition of his three sonatinas for the same setting. There is a strong thematic unity, most obviously between the opening themes of the second and fourth movements.
