Daniel Lozakovich is a Swedish violinist, born in Stockholm on 1 April 2001 to a Belarusian father and a Kyrgyz mother. He made his concert debut at the age of nine with the Moscow Virtuosi under Vladimir Spivakov. He studied with Josef Rissin at the Karlsruhe University of Music from 2012 and, from 2015, with Eduard Wulfson in Geneva. In 2016 he won the Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition and, aged 15, signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, becoming the youngest artist on the label at the time. His DG debut album of Bach violin concertos and the Partita No. 2 (2018) topped the classical charts in Germany and France. It was followed by None but the Lonely Heart (2019), a Tchaikovsky album with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under Spivakov and the pianist Stanislav Soloviev, a live Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Münchner Philharmoniker under Valery Gergiev (2020), and Spirits (2023), an encore album again with Soloviev. A Warner Classics recording of Grieg, Franck and Shostakovich followed in 2024. He performed at the state dinner for King Charles III at the Palace of Versailles in 2023 and at the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame de Paris in 2024. He plays the ex-Baron Rothschild Stradivarius and the 1727 Le Reynier Stradivari, on loan from LVMH. Source: Rondo DB
