Franck van der Heijden is a Dutch composer, arranger, conductor and guitarist, born on 27 September 1967 in Geldrop, the Netherlands, into a creative family (his father was a music teacher). He began making music at 14 and, after taking up the guitar, chose the conservatory over film school, studying arranging and composition at the Hilversum Conservatory from 1984 to 1990. He first worked as a guitarist in various bands and as a studio producer and arranger, and from 1995 focused on arranging and orchestrating for large orchestras, working for more than 17 years with the Metropole Orkest and Night of the Proms. There he met violinist David Garrett in 2002, beginning a long collaboration: he is the musical director, conductor and guitarist of Garrett's tours and co-arranger of many of his albums, including Iconic (2022) and Immortal (Deutsche Grammophon). He has also written orchestral arrangements for artists such as Within Temptation, David Guetta, Michael Jackson and Celine Dion. Source: Rondo DB
