Jory Vinikour (born 12 May 1963 in Chicago) is an American harpsichordist and conductor. After early studies in the United States, he moved to Paris in 1990 on a Fulbright scholarship to study with Huguette Dreyfus and Kenneth Gilbert. He won the prize for contemporary music at the Paris Harpsichord Competition in 1987, first prize at the International Harpsichord Competition of Warsaw in 1993 and first prize and overall prize at the Prague Spring Competition in 1994. He has performed as a soloist throughout Europe, the United States, Asia and South America, and frequently directs from the harpsichord, having conducted ensembles such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra. His discography includes Bach's Goldberg Variations and harpsichord toccatas, Handel's 1720 Suites, suites by Bernard de Bury and Frank Martin's Petite Symphonie Concertante. His recording of the complete harpsichord works of Jean-Philippe Rameau was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo in 2012, and his album Toccatas, devoted to contemporary American works for harpsichord, received a nomination in the same category in 2014.
