Astrig Siranossian is a French cellist of Armenian descent, born on 19 December 1988 in Lyon. She began cello at a young age, entering the Lyon Regional Conservatoire at eight and graduating with honors from the Lyon National Conservatoire at eighteen. She continued her studies at the Schola Cantorum in Basel under Ivan Monighetti, earning two master's degrees with distinction. She was an artist in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Waterloo from 2015 and has performed with conductors and musicians including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, Martha Argerich and Yo-Yo Ma at major venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Kennedy Center. She won the Antonio Janigro Competition in 2012 and first prize at the Krzysztof Penderecki Competition in 2013, and was made a Chevalier of the Ordre national du Merite in 2025.
