Anna Besson, born in 1988, is a French flutist specializing in both the modern flute and the Baroque traverso. She studied at the conservatoires of Perpignan and Versailles before entering the Conservatoire Superieur de Geneve in 2008, studying transverse flute with Michel Ballavance and traverso with Serge Saitta, and later completed her Certificat d'aptitude at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She performs regularly with the Orchestre de l'Opera National de Paris and is a founding member of the Baroque ensembles A Nocte Temporis and Nevermind. Besson has taught traverso at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels since 2020 and has explored repertoire for historical instruments including the Irish wooden flute, with a discography that includes a Diapason d'Or-winning recording of Mozart's flute concertos.
