Hans Haselböck (born Johann Haselböck, 26 July 1928, Nesselstauden – 20 October 2021, Vienna) was an Austrian organist, composer, author and teacher. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Music and at the University of Vienna (classics and German), earning a doctorate in 1953. He won three consecutive first prizes at the Haarlem International Organ Improvisation Competition (1958–1960). He was organist of the Dominican Church in Vienna for 65 years and professor of organ and improvisation at the Vienna Music Academy, where he also headed the church music faculty and served as deputy rector. He gave concerts across Europe, North America and Asia, and is regarded as a pioneer of German-language Catholic church music after the Second Vatican Council. His sons Martin Haselböck (organist, conductor) and Lukas Haselböck (composer, musicologist) are also musicians. Source: Rondo DB
