Ernst Stahl was a German conductor active in Dresden in the late nineteenth century. From 1886 to 1890 he was principal conductor of the Gewerbehaus orchestra (Gewerbehauskapelle), the forerunner of today's Dresdner Philharmonie, succeeding the orchestra's founding conductor Hermann Mannsfeldt and preceding August Trenkler. Concert records of the Gewerbehaus hall in Dresden document his appearances with the orchestra during this period. Little further biographical information about him has survived. Source: Rondo DB
