Sibelius: "Pelleas et Melisande" and various, Tapiola Sinfonietta / Tuomas Ollila (2000)

Sibelius: "Pelleas et Melisande" and Various Tapiola Sinfonietta / Tuomas Ollila (2000) Tuomas Ollila (he has also used Ollila-Hannikainen) brilliantly conducts some of the perhaps less heard pieces by Sibelius, and the evergreen Pelleas & Melisande stage music, with the well-known "Death of Melisande". The Tapiola Sinfonietta Orchestra is a capable one and the recording is great as well, so you can just sit back & enjoy. Try if you can hear any James Bond (Dr No) in the opening of the "Cassazione"! Ollila-Hannikainen and Tampere Filharmonia also were my choice for the Karelia and Press Days' Music and "En saga" in my Sibelius Collection here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRDzwVA5DV4 00:02 Cassazione, Op. 6 10:26 String Quartet in B-Flat Major, Op. 4: III.
