Paris-based Alpha Classics is the principal label of the Franco-Belgian group Outhere Music. Building on its history of more than fifteen years and its reputation founded on early music, ALPHA acquired new momentum in 2015 by opening its catalogue to all repertories and welcoming important new artists from exceptionally diverse horizons: Anna Vinnitskaya, Véronique Gens, Hervé Niquet, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Georg Nigl, La Tempête, Nevermind, Jérémie Rhorer, Anna Prohaska, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Matthias Pintscher, and many more still to come, notably new talents, discovery and accompaniment of whom are a key priority for the label. Alongside all these new projects, ALPHA remains faithful to the artists who have made its history and its reputation: Vincent Dumestre, Bruno Cocset, François Lazarevitch, Café Zimmermann and, more recently, Giovanni Antonini & Il Giardino Armonico for the famous Haydn 2032 complete recording. In order to create a stronger and more prominent label on the international scene, ALPHA now brings together all the artists who previously recorded under its name along with those who recorded for ZIG-ZAG TERRITOIRES, among them the Belcea Quartet, Nelson Goerner, Tedi Papavrami, Jos Van Immerseel. This merger will make for greater coherence among the 600 recordings in the existing catalogues (especially in the field of early music, the strong point of both labels) and the new releases. More than ever, ALPHA aims to establish long-term relationships with artists, to release projects that have come to artistic maturity, to give the fullest attention to the conditions of recording, editorial content, manufacturing and communication, whether its releases are physical or digital.
