The Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angeles is an orchestra made up of top Hollywood studio and session musicians, assembled for recording projects at the major scoring stages of Los Angeles. Its players come from the community of freelance musicians, members of the American Federation of Musicians Local 47, who regularly perform on film, television and video-game soundtracks.

The orchestra is best known for Across the Stars (Deutsche Grammophon, 2019), on which violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter performed new arrangements of John Williams's film themes, conducted by the composer himself. The album was recorded over five days in April 2019 on the historic Sony Pictures Scoring Stage in Culver City, with an orchestra of about seventy players, and Williams's arrangement of Hedwig's Theme earned a 2020 Grammy nomination for Best Arrangement. In August 2018 the orchestra also recorded Kevin Kaska's Inferno for Orchestra at Sony Pictures, under the composer's direction, with Belinda Broughton as concertmaster. Rondo DB
